Description

The Antáres Assemblage Rouge AOC Wallis is an exceptional Swiss red wine blend that masterfully showcases the incredible depth, structure, and harmonic complexity of a premium alpine assemblage. Expertly produced by the historic Maison Gilliard estate in the heart of the Wallis (Valais) canton, this distinctive red selection seamlessly brings together three noble grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Diolinoir. The vines absorb intense mountain sunshine on steep stone terraces over deep glacial mineral soils, giving birth to a bold and beautifully balanced red wine with an unmatched sense of place.

In the glass, this beautiful 2016 vintage exhibits a stunning, deep dark-red colour with exceptional density. The bouquet opens with a complicated yet inviting flavour profile, bursting with rich aromas of ripe mountain fruits, warming alpine spices, and a delicate touch of sweet vanilla. Clocking in at a perfectly balanced 13.6% alcohol by volume, it features remarkably smooth, integrated tannins and a harmonious body that coats the palate with a velvet-like texture, delivering a highly polished mouthfeel with a long finish. This independent selection possesses an outstanding cellaring potential, built to mature and expand its complexity beautifully over an extended ripeness window of up to 12 years.

Food Pairing:
With its complex fruit profile and balanced structure, this premium Antáres blend is a phenomenal asset for fine dining. It pairs magnificently with tender beef fillets, classic roasted cuts, and premium wild venison dishes. It also serves as a world-class companion for traditional European charcuterie assortments and a variety of aged gourmet hard cheeses. To enjoy its alpine complexity at its peak, serve at a preferred room temperature of 16–18 °C.

High-Altitude Antáres Winemaking by Maison Gilliard
The Maison Gilliard estate is highly celebrated throughout the Wallis canton for seamlessly merging multi-generational family heritage with modern, 21st-century production standard refinements. Since Switzerland famously consumes almost its entire crop locally and exports less than 2% of its total wine production to global markets, every single bottle of this boutique vintage is a genuine rarity for wine collectors across the United Kingdom. Operating as an independent global storefront, Swiss Wine™ ships these exclusive alpine treasures directly to the UK market. Embracing our passion for forward-thinking solutions, we proudly offer safe checkout features, including instant Bitcoin processing over the secure Lightning Network.
